It’s been years since the Tundra debuted back in 2007, and these are the first major developments it adopts beyond the incredible advancement of Toyota technology and safety in recent years. The anticipation is high and after several months of teasing from Toyota, we officially have eyes on it.

The 2022 Tundra is coming soon. Just days after the official reveal during Sunday Night Football, Garry Skakun, the General Manager of Red Deer Toyota went to Las Vegas for a firsthand experience with the new Tundra. When asked about his thoughts back in Red Deer, Garry said “It’s a gamechanger. Life-changing for our marketplace.

That’s a big statement In the competitive, passionate scene of truck drivers, but it’s in line with reviews and opinions across the car industry. Let’s look at a few reasons why the new Toyota Tundra has so much hype behind it.

Your New Tundra Can Pack A Hybrid Punch

Toyota leads the pack with hybrid options across their vehicle lineup. And when it came to ensuring the newest Tundra got the hybrid treatment in ways that top the competition – well… it’s lights out for everyone else. Even the Tundra TRD Pro is available with the hybrid technology of Toyota’s new iForce Max Engine to help enhance mileage and torque. An electric motor connected to the driveshaft boosts the twin-turbo V6 an extra 48 horsepower, from 389 to 437! Those numbers help take it above what Ford’s PowerBoost has to offer drivers. Driving.ca writes “the boosted V6 produces 437 horsepower and 583 lb-?ft of torque. That’s more than most diesels, and vastly simpler when it comes to emissions.”

Technology & Features

Toyota continue to manufacture vehicles with the latest and greatest ways to embrace technology to make our vehicles safer and more efficient. An 8-inch (or optional 14-inch) multimedia screen is just one big upgrade to help new Tundra drivers do everything they need with ease. This includes 360-degree view cameras and a trailer back-up assist system Straight Path Assist – SUPER COOL. The Tundra also offers downhill acceleration control and off-road cruise control, just to name a few of the features that make this new truck a REALLY big deal going forward.

And until the rest of them make some serious strides – Toyota has a new champion. As Red Deer Toyota Sales Manager Ryan Dandurand says about the new Toyota Tundra: “It’ll be the only obvious choice in the market.” It’s an exciting time to be a truck driver, especially with Toyota.
